John T. Sproule is an artist in the field of the revival of classical realism. John lives and works in Toronto, Canada in Toronto's vibrant downtown community.

John has been painting since he was 15 years old. At this early stage of his career John studied under Tom Cayley, Bob Bozak and Greg Curnoe. After a long period of self-tuition, John has spend the last 5 years studying at the College Street Studio; a studio specializing in the revival of classic realist techniques as taught in Florence by Pietro Annigoni. John has absorbed influences particularly from 19th century academic artists such as Fredrick Lord Leighton, William Bouguereau and Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema.
